As a gym member, you are likely already aware of the many physical benefits of exercise. However, did you know that exercise can also have a positive impact on your mental health?

It’s true! Regular physical activity can help to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, boost your mood, and improve your overall well-being. 

Another way that exercise can help with mental health is by providing a sense of structure and routine. Many people find that having a regular exercise routine can help them to feel more in control of their lives and less stressed overall. By making exercise a priority in your daily or weekly schedule, you are creating a sense of purpose and focus that can be beneficial for your mental health.

  2. Get a good night sleep, most adults need 7 to 9 hours!
  3. Take up a relaxation practice – Yoga, mindfulness, meditation and deep breathing can help reduce overall levels of stress.
  4. Eat a brain-healthy diet- foods such as beans lentils fish rich in omega-3s, nuts, avocados, dark leafy greens, fruit and Dark chocolate to suppress that sweet craving we all get!
  5. Stay connected with people, the mood-boosting power of face-to-face time with other people, especially those you love and people who energize you!
